Visa’s trademark filings hint at launch of crypto wallet

Visa Intercontinental Assistance Affiliation on Oct. 22 filed two trademark applications that hinted at ideas of launching a crypto wallet, according to a Twitter article by trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis.

  • The credit score card big submitted purposes for non-downloadable computer software utilized “to watch, entry, retailer, keep track of, regulate, trade, deliver, acquire, transmit, and trade electronic currency, virtual forex, cryptocurrency, digital and blockchain belongings, and non-fungible tokens.”
  • The trademark application also provided filings for software program for the “management of digital transactions” and “use as a cryptocurrency wallet.”
  • Visa’s submitting also featured non-fungible tokens (NFTs), referred to as “non-downloadable digital products, particularly, a collectible series of non-fungible tokens.” 
  • The firm also hinted at metaverse ambitions, as it submitted for computer software “providing digital environments in which end users can interact for leisure, leisure or entertainment needs accessible in the virtual planet.”
