Cantrell declines comment on computer seizure at City Hall

Friday afternoon, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell declined to comment on the seizure of computers involving a member of her administration.Sources with the New Orleans City Council say the Office of the Inspector General seized multiple computers Thursday.That same source told WDSU the computers were seized as part of the investigation into the Smart Cities Initiative, which some council members have been pushing back against.WDSU was told the seized computers belonged to Christopher Wolff. Wolff is a Network Technology Specialist with the City, involved in the Smart Cities plan.Smart Cities was a proposed idea to try and bring free Wi-Fi to the city.The plan was scrapped after concerns about members of Cantrell’s administration possibly being involved with the winning bidder.The council is looking for a firm to handle its investigation into this issue.
