Today, we are already living in an interconnected world wherein computers act as communication channels allowing us to communicate and share resources with each other. The person who can set up these computer networks is thus very much in demand at any business, educational, governmental or health care facilities. To become one, you must have a combination of technical knowledge, communication and interpersonal skills.
As these computer networking careers are increasingly getting popular these days, these networking professionals must constantly keep themselves updated about the latest technologies and trends. There are a number of Cisco training courses available nowadays for anyone who wants to develop their networking career. These include the CCNA and CCIE Training.
CCNA Training
CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is a popular certification in computer networking which was developed by Cisco Systems. It is a popular and highly sought-after IT certification which can help you get your first networking job or progress your career if you currently work in Information Technology (IT).
Cisco designed the CCNA to recognize the basic competency in installation as well as support of medium-sized networks. It deals with the basic networking concepts and you have a number of options to specialize during such training. These include the R&S (Routing and Switching), Security, and Voice.
In R&S, it covers the introductory manual to the operating mechanism of a network comprising routers and switches. At the end of the training, you are expected to install, configure and troubleshoot any operational issues in the network. With regards to the Security track in CCNA training, it tackles the basics of security concepts to protect a network. Here, you are taught to identify various security threats as well as design techniques in order to mitigate them. In Voice, you will be trained on how to manage a VOIP-based network and design solutions, ensuring the smooth transmission of voice-based protocols over the network.
CCIE Training
On the other hand, CCIE training is the higher end version of network training. It was introduced in 1993 to help individuals, companies, and industries succeed in the networked world by distinguishing the top echelon of inter-networking experts. Now, it is considered as the ultimate choice for a networking professional who wants to expand their career.
Just like CCNA, there are also similar choices of tracks available to the networking professional in CCIE training. But the difference is that this training is more evolved and conducted at a higher level. It is more in-depth and even exhaustive as compared to CCNA training. In other words, CCIE training is like a doctorate in networking.
With regards to the compensation, the pay package which the networking professional can claim after a successful completion of CCIE training is quite higher than the one who has completed the CCNA training. In addition, the duration of the course in this training is longer as compared to CCNA training. However, you have the option to go directly for CCIE training or start with CCNA training and then finally move to CCIE training.
